Refining Talemy’s onboarding plan for recruiter role

As part of a class project, I saw an opportunity not just to fulfill academic requirements, but to create real-world impact. I proactively reached out to Talemy—an HR consulting startup in Vietnam where I previously interned—and proposed a collaboration to improve their onboarding process for new recruiter consultants.

About Talemy

Talemy focuses on identifying potential in candidates and is committed to training employees from the ground up. Their onboarding process targets entry-level recruiters and needed a more structured, scalable approach.

My Role and Initiative

Together with teammates Aashish and Sarv, I led the charge in shaping a new onboarding framework. I initiated the partnership, managed client communications, and ensured our deliverables were both actionable and research-backed.

Project Goals

  • Identify and address key issues in Talemy’s current onboarding process
  • Deliver content that is clear, practical, and easy to implement
  • Develop both short-term and long-term onboarding strategies tailored to Talemy’s needs

Process Overview

  1. Aligned with team on project vision and responsibilities
  2. Contacted Talemy and proposed the collaboration
  3. Conducted interviews with subject matter experts and supervisors
  4. Collected and reviewed existing onboarding materials
  5. Brainstormed and divided tasks among the team
  6. Applied Industrial-Organizational Psychology principles to create content
  7. Iterated through team reviews and client feedback
  8. Delivered finalized materials to Talemy
  9. Held a follow-up session to walk them through the plan and address questions

Skills Applied & Developed

  • Project Management: Timelines, task delegation, deliverable tracking
  • Client Communication: Stakeholder engagement and feedback integration
  • Analytical Thinking: Root cause analysis using I-O Psychology frameworks
  • Team Collaboration: Coordinating efforts across disciplines and cultures

Outcomes

  • Successfully delivered the onboarding plan on time
  • Talemy recognized key gaps in their current system
  • They have begun integrating our suggestions into their onboarding process
